Job retraining is a process required during the transition from one career to another. Retraining usually results from one or more of the following factors in one’s work history: consistent dissatisfaction with one’s type of work, a significant downturn in that job’s long-term forecast, boredom, the need for more challenge from work, or a desire to secure a higher income. Assessment, questionnaires, and a comprehensive job review with a coach are the first steps in this process. The coaching process secures a high degree of certainty about the new career direction prior to planning the steps toward that new career. This saves the client both time and money from false starts and unneeded training.
